In a previous post I’ve documented the Faikin installation for Daikin Perfera devices. This is the follow-up for Daikin Comfora. Instead of hooking Faikin up to the S403 connector I requested the KRP067A41 adapter from my installer, because they promised me equal functionality (with exceptions) to the Perfera series and failed to mention the lack of S21 port. The cable I used has EHR-5 on both ends and is about 50cm in length, but 30cm would be enough as well.
To ensure electrical safety turn off all inside units and unplug the outside unit or disconnect the breaker.
Open the lid by pulling it away from the device and remove it by pushing the mounting hooks to the outside. Remove the filters by unhooking them the bottom and pulling them out. This process is still well documented in the regular consumer manual.
Remove the two screws on the front with a PH2 screwdriver. Remove the air flap by bending it in an S-shape and pushing it to the left or right, whichever works best for you. The bending might require more force than you are comfortable with.

Now the main casing can be unhooked. On the top side of the back plate are three grey hooks holding it in place. The installer reference guide tells you to push them down, which I found impossible to do because of their stiffness. It is much easier to use them as leverage points for your thumbs and lift up the casing instead.

Open the cover of the electrical box, which is just held shut by springy hooks.

Prepare the KRP067A41 interface adapter by inserting the three spacers into the board.

Here’s a view of the board before installation.

Push the adapter board into place and connect it. The cable with the ferrite core does not really have a place to go, just leave it dangling. Connect the Faikin cable to the S21 connector and place the board outside the metal casing. I like to tuck it in next to the power cable.

Close the electrical box and reassemble.
According to the installer reference guide these steps should work for the following devices:
